Description

Job Summary
The organization is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to work on the Medical Surgical Floor in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will be responsible for managing various medical-surgical patient needs, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and supporting interdisciplinary team efforts.

Job Details

Shift: 3x12 Days (7:45 AM 7:15 PM)
Schedule: Days, 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or in application process with ETA, minimum 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical care, BLS certification required, valid certifications including Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, and Isolation Precautions.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, experience with Cerner charting system, and trauma level I experience.
Additional Information: The position involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients, managing blood products, IV therapy, and special procedures such as TPN administration and NG insertions. Float may be required within scope to meet department needs. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience and be able to work every other weekend.
Start Date: 08/31/2026
Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation.
Candidate must complete compliance requirements including lab appointments, documentation, and badge photo within 1 week of contract signing.
The first day of orientation is virtual and at-home, with module completion expected by 4:00 PM CST on Day 1.
