Description

Job Summary
Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level I trauma center with a patient census of approximately 175 per day. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting adult and pediatric patients with a variety of urgent medical conditions.

Job Details

Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week, starting on 08/31/2026.
Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or in application process with ETA, minimum 2 years experience in emergency medicine, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications, proficiency in Cerner charting system.
Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Emergency Department experience, previous Level I trauma center experience, trauma certification (Preferred Trauma Level I or II), community hospital experience, travel experience.
Special Requirements: General Emergency Department experience combining adult and pediatric patient care is required. Skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency response skills such as intubation and chest tube management.
Additional Information: No on-call requirement. Willing to work every other weekend with a guarantee of up to 36 hours cancellation per thirteen-week assignment. Must have valid state license, be able to work a flexible schedule, and meet all certification requirements. Candidates should be prepared to complete required modules and orientation prior to the start date.
