Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician (ORT) position is located at an acute care hospital. The role involves supporting surgical procedures across multiple specialties, with a focus on spine and total joint cases. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience, including scrub experience, and be prepared to work in a fast-paced surgical environment. The assignment begins on 09/15/2026 and concludes on 12/15/2026.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting at varied times between 0630 and 1030 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications: BLS, CST, NBSTSA or NCCT; Education: high school diploma or equivalent; Experience: at least 2 years in surgical technology; Location: within 50 miles of the facility; Experience in spine and total joint cases.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotic-assisted surgeries, SPD (Sterile Processing Department) experience, outpatient surgical experience.
• Float: Float to sister outpatient surgery pavilion with 3 OR suites as needed.
• On-Call: Yes, with a response time of 30 minutes; shift on call from 2300-0700 or 0700-0700, generally about 3 weekdays and 2-3 weekends in a 6-week period, excluding full weekends.
• Additional Information: Candidate must have prior scrub experience with a focus on orthopedic, spine, or total joint cases. The facility performs a range of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, urology, obstetrics/gynecology, endoscopic, vascular, and robotic surgeries. Flexibility for holiday coverage (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day) is required. Travel and local candidates within the 50-mile radius are accepted; candidates may be expected to float between facilities nearby the contracted facility to meet staffing needs.
