Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Medical Surgical Nursing on the night shift in Arlington Heights, Illinois, will provide advanced patient care for a neuro patient population, including stroke, neurosurgical, and seizure patients. The role involves maintaining high-quality clinical standards and collaborating closely with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois Nursing License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, experience with EPIC charting, and at least 2 years of strong Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience, preferably with neuro patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with neuro patient populations including stroke, spine, cranial, ENT, and seizure patients.
• Additional Information: Nurse to patient ratio is 1/5 or 1/6. Must be flexible to float as needed to other Medical Surgical units. Incorporates every other weekend work. Must complete orientation on Wednesday and Thursday, including 10 hours of non-billable orientation and 8 hours of Epic training, followed by 12 hours on the unit. Submission of an updated resume, skills checklist (completed within the past 12 months), one reference (within the past 12 months), and Illinois license verification is required before start date.
