Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in San Antonio, Texas. This full-time position involves providing compassionate, independent nursing care within the perinatal unit. The role emphasizes ensuring patient safety and comfort while executing routine and complex clinical interventions in the labor and delivery setting. The candidate will be expected to practice according to established protocols and demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current certification from AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or National Certification Corporation (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), BLS certification (AHA only), NRP certification, ACLS certification (AHA only), and RN license in the state of Texas or a compact license.
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in labor and delivery or related nursing specialty; recent practice in a perinatal setting is a plus.
- Position Requirements: All newly hired experienced registered nurses must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. Precepted by trained staff, with onboarding requirements validated through successful completion of designated competency validations. Completion of all annual competency requirements is also necessary.
- Additional Information: The role involves assessing and providing education to patients and caregivers, administering medications, monitoring treatment effects, and making clinical decisions based on patient needs. The position is created to fill a vacant slot and starts on 08/31/2026.
