Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Santa Rosa, California. This position involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a busy acute care hospital setting. The role requires delivering high-quality care for high-risk deliveries, preterm infants, and stabilization of neonatal patients, including attending deliveries and performing admissions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12 shifts or 4x12 shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: California license in hand, BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, three or more years of experience specializing in NICU, previous charge experience preferred, Epic charting system experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Neonatal Dialysis and advanced neonatal procedures is a plus
- Patient Ratios: Day coverage consisting of 3 neonates per RN, night shift details vary but typically involve comprehensive neonatal care
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Additional responsibilities: Managing high-risk deliveries, blood and blood product administration, respiratory support, developmentally appropriate care, and family teaching
- Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, pharmacy
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Neonates 29 weeks gestation and above, including all ages at delivery for stabilization and transfer if under 27 weeks. Deliveries with high-risk factors such as preterm birth or meconium aspiration
- Holidays: Willing to work two out of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
- Other Requirements: Submit two references covering at least one year within the last three, including charge or lead RN references; RTO restrictions apply with all requests included at submission; floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required; travel compliance and certification documentation are mandatory at time of submission
