Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse position available in Bethel, Alaska, within the Department of Labor and Delivery. This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients from birth through the postpartum period, adhering to established clinical standards. The position emphasizes collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and quality patient outcomes, applying age-specific and culturally sensitive care approaches.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 32 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Must have completed a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution, hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), and be licensed in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Alaska. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Fetal Monitoring certification are required. National Certification in Obstetrics is preferred. Candidate must pass and maintain clinical competencies.
• Able to practice nursing in accordance with Alaska State regulations regarding registered nursing practice.
• Proficient in oral and written communication, medical terminology, and patient care documentation.
• Knowledge of the AWHONN standards and ability to interpret diagnostic tests and administer medications.
• Effective in problem-solving, following procedural guidelines, and presenting information clearly.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to patient care, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Capable of managing care across the continuum and working independently within prescribed limits.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in labor and delivery and obstetric certifications.
• Additional Information: Orientation begins on a Tuesday; first week hours are not guaranteed. All travelers are required to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations.
