Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Nurse Practitioner in Pocatello, Idaho. This position involves providing specialized patient care on a 24-bed progressive care unit that manages adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses including stroke, heart failure, and respiratory failure. The role requires competent management of complex cases within a Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Shift: 3x12 hour Nights; Minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). Education requirements are not specified; at least 0 years of experience; state or compact license must be in hand at time of submittal.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with blood product administration, central line care, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, and use of rapid response or code teams.
  • Floated: Possible; floating to other units may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit accepts first-time traveler applicants.
    • Typical staffing ratio's 1:3 or 1:4.
    • The unit is a comprehensive stroke, Level II Trauma, Chest Pain Accredited facility capable of providing complex care including emergent cardioversion, central line placement, and specialized procedures with equipment such as BIPAP/CPAP, IPPB, and HF.
    • Responsibilities include managing adult and geriatric patients, with a daily census of 23 and 24 rooms/beds.
    • Interdisciplinary support services are available such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
    • The position requires compliance with 100-mile radius rule, no local candidates, and licensure in the state or a participating compact state.
    • Orientation includes 24 hours of onsite training with core items and labs to be completed within 48 hours of contract signing, along with onsite modules.
