Description

Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse is needed for a healthcare facility located in the area. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. The position offers the opportunity to work in a high-risk labor and delivery unit with a focus on maternal and neonatal health, utilizing advanced nursing skills in a dynamic clinical setting.

Job Details:

Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid Kansas or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license, 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, BLS (Basic Life Support), AWHONN Advanced (American Women's Health & Obstetric Nurses Association), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications in hand at time of submission.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charge nurse responsibilities, community hospital experience, and proficiency with the Epic charting system.
Additional Information: The role includes comprehensive care of high-risk labor patients, postpartum management, cesarean sections, external cephalic versions, and neonatal assessment. Physicians may perform procedures such as amniocentesis, high-risk labor assistance, and fetal monitoring. The assignment spans from 10/14/2026 to 01/06/2027, with six weekend shifts required within a six-week period or every third weekend. Travelers may be expected to float within their scope as needed to support unit needs. Orientation modules are completed onsite, with non-billable hours recorded via transcripts.
