Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) available in the Missouri area. This position involves caring for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients within a high-acuity, Level I trauma center. The role focuses on procedural pre- and post-operative care, supporting a wide range of surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and transplant cases. The schedule consists of day shifts, with no weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS and ACLS; experience with Epic, critical care, inpatient settings, Level I trauma centers, Phase I PACU; skills including dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV start, vasopressor administration, ICP monitoring, ventilated patient care, and general PACU duties.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN, TNCC, trauma experience, high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU experience, level 1 trauma certification.
• Additional Information: This unit contains 38 patient bays, supporting patients recovering from diverse surgical procedures; some patients require artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive medications. Night shift staff may need to learn pre-op patient assessments. The unit operates 24/7 with interdisciplinary support including respiratory, interpretation services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must have a Missouri or compact license in hand at the time of submittal. Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
• Special Requirements: Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, high acuity PACU or ICU experience (minimum 2 years in Level I trauma), and ability to pass required skill assessments.
