Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse positioned in Santa Rosa, California. This role involves providing assessment, coordination, and delivery of specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in an acute setting. The NICU RN will deliver holistic, individualized care, support patient and family education, and facilitate transitions of care, adhering to hospital protocols and best practices.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: CA RN licensure, BLS (American Heart Association), NRP certification, at least 2 years of Level III or Level IV neonatal ICU experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, high risk delivery experience, and experience with a patient ratio of 3 neonates per nurse.
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NRP.
  • Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, APGAR scoring, arterial line management, assisting with high-risk deliveries, blood glucose monitoring, respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, central line care, neonatal sepsis management, ventilator management, thermoregulation, tracheostomy care, UAC and UVC management, and more.
  • Additional Information: The role requires expertise in neonatal emergency procedures, advanced airway management, and familiarity with electronic charting systems, specifically Epic. The census is approximately 8 neonates per day with 12 beds available.
