Job Summary:
Hawaii-based Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician is needed for a healthcare facility operating in a busy surgical environment. The position involves assisting with turn-over cleaning, transporting patients as needed, and independently scrubbing various procedures including general, orthopedic, vascular, ophthalmic, urology, ENT, endoscopy, robotic, obstetrics, and gynecology cases. The role requires working rotating shifts within the typical operational hours, supporting a fast-paced surgical setting.

Job Details:

• Shift Hours: 12-hour rotating shifts, with start times typically between 6:45 AM and 11:15 PM, based on departmental needs.
• Schedule: Applicants will be scheduled for a minimum of 36 hours per week, with the possibility of working up to 40 hours depending on department demands.
• Required Qualifications: Certification as a Surgical Technician, at least 2 years of experience scrubbing cases in a hospital setting, Hawaii licensure (if applicable) prior to start date, and any additional licensing requirements.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with a variety of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, vascular, ophthalmic, urology, ENT, endoscopy, robotic, obstetrics, and gynecology.
• Additional Information:
  • The candidate must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
  • A minimum of 39 shifts must be completed during the contract, including any requested time off.
  • The facility operates 24/7 with assigned call duties approximately 1-2 times per week, including up to 2 weekends per month, with a 20-minute callback time.
  • Scrubs are provided, and orientation to day shifts may last up to one week or as determined by management.
