Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Orange, California. This role involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns in a busy acute care hospital environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California licensure or compact license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; 2 years of labor and delivery experience; experience working with patient ratios of 4 during nights; no prior experience required for entry-level candidates.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a Magnet-designated hospital, experience with Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM), and skills in handling labor and postpartum care.
- Float: Float rotation may be required between units or nearby facilities.
- Additional Information: This facility offers interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams. The unit provides care for vaginal and cesarean delivery patients, including routine postpartum and neonatal care, and special procedures such as circumcision. Candidates are expected to work at least three out of five major holidays and must include all scheduling requests at the time of submittal.
