Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in the department is responsible for providing specialized care for pregnant women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. This role involves managing high-risk pregnancies, assisting with deliveries independently, and ensuring maternal and neonatal safety in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Nurse will work on night shifts in a unit with a high volume of deliveries, contributing to quality patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Job Details

  • Location: 1800 Nw Myhre Rd, Silverdale, WA 98383
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience; ability to attend deliveries independently; competent in monitoring and assisting with low-risk and high-risk obstetric cases; experience with titrating drips such as Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin; valid license to submit; willing to wait for licensure approval.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) systems, familiarity with Centricity-perinatal system, and comfort in working with high-risk obstetric patients.
  • Shift & Scheduling: Night shifts; willingness to participate in rotational weekend and holiday schedules; block scheduling available upon request.
  • Responsibilities: Managing labor and postpartum care, assisting with deliveries and cesarean sections, monitoring fetal and maternal status, responding to emergent situations, collaborating with in-house OB/GYN, neonatologists, anesthesia providers, and support staff.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes an 8-hour compliance day with unit-based educator and an 8-hour EPIC class, plus 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation. The unit promotes a collaborative environment with feedback and adaptability encouraged.
  • Note: No floating outside the mother-baby and postpartum units; capable of handling routine mom and baby care, transitioning babies, and attending low-risk deliveries.
