Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is located at a level 1 trauma center, requiring candidates to have current acute care OR experience. The assignment involves working in a busy surgical environment with a variety of service lines including trauma, neurology, orthopedics, robotics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and pediatrics. The role emphasizes flexibility to float across multiple campuses and participation in rotating shifts.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience, hospital/medical center experience prioritized; circulating or scrub operating room experience required; scrubbing experience highly preferred; experience in General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, Trauma, Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, Ear, Nose, Throat, and Vascular cases highly preferred; EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years; trauma Level I experience highly preferred, Level II experience required; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months; current Iowa or IA multistate license; BLS certification from AHA or ARC within the last 12 months; driver's license required; professional references from within the last 24 months.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I experience highly preferred.
• Additional Information: Orientation dates are scheduled for 09/21, 09/28, 10/05, 10/12, and 10/19. The position requires working 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Call schedule includes one overnight per week and three weekends across a 13-week contract. The candidate must be comfortable floating across all campuses and working at multiple level 1 trauma service lines with specialized equipment such as Da Vinci robots and neuro navigation technology.
