Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves providing compassionate and competent nursing care to patients within the PCU, following established care plans, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The RN will supervise care staff, participate in patient assessments, and contribute to discharge planning to support optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift with a duration of 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification prior to the first shift; valid ACLS certification prior to the first shift (CIRH only); minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience; educational requirements include relevant nursing degree, with location requirements met by residing in or near Des Moines, Iowa.

• Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans. Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in accordance with policy. Participates in patient rehabilitation programs, initiates discharge planning and patient education, and communicates effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. Provides supervision and direction to ancillary nursing staff, maintains safety protocols, and engages in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities following orientation and actively seeks professional development.
