Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Austin, TX. This 13-week contract position offers staffing coverage on both day and night shifts within a busy labor and delivery unit. The RN will provide patient care for a high-volume maternity unit, following clinical protocols and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, ACLS, BLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are required, along with competency in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and C-section circulation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a high-volume Level IV unit, proficiency in internal monitor placement, and familiarity with recent HCA assignments are preferred.
- Additional Information: The unit has 32 beds with a staffing ratio of 1:2. It is equipped with Novii, JADA, fetal pillow, intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC), fetal scalp electrode (FSE), Toco, and ultrasound technology. The team consists of 150 staff members including charge nurses and RNs on both day and night shifts. Dress code requires solid navy blue, black, or grey sweatshirts; T-shirts are not acceptable. The unit emphasizes team collaboration and positive attitude, with new equipment and experienced staff contributing to a supportive work environment.
