Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Nurse in a surgical unit. This role involves providing bedside care to a diverse patient population, including general surgery, orthopedic, vascular, and gynecological cases. The position requires flexibility to float to other units as needed and adherence to unit-specific protocols and certifications.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 10/26/2026 and ending 01/11/2027.
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, NIHSS, at least 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, with a willingness to wait for license submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system, familiarity with telemonitoring, and prior float experience across surgical units.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with potential assignments to other surgical or medical-surgical units.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have a valid license to submit and are expected to adhere to the facilitys orientation and dress code policies. The unit handles general surgery patients, with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5 during day and night shifts. Orientation includes three days, covering general, surgical, and orthopedic spine units.
