Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) San Antonio, TX. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within the Labor and Delivery department of a dedicated womens pavilion. The role offers an opportunity to support women during childbirth and postpartum recovery, utilizing advanced fetal monitoring and obstetric procedures. The assignment duration is 13 weeks, with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Job Details:
- Certification and Educational Requirements: Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license; BLS, ACLS, and Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications; minimum of 2 years experience in hospital or specialty obstetric environments.
- Shift and Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Assignment spans from 09/14/2026 to 12/14/2026.
- Qualifications: Candidates should have at least one year of relevant clinical experience.
- Unit Specifics: The Labor and Delivery unit features 16 labor and delivery beds, 5 triage (OBED), and 7 antepartum beds. Patient ratios are approximately 1:2. The unit employs Meditech electronic documentation and fetal monitors.
- Procedures and Equipment: Responsible for vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, utilizing fetal monitors and other obstetric equipment.
- Dress Code and Appearance: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket; clean and neat hair, body art covered, minimal visible piercings other than ears, and well-trimmed facial hair as applicable.
- Policy Adherence: Must follow floating policies and unit procedures; candidates must complete Methodist Acknowledgement Form and adhere to attendance policies.
