Description

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry Nurses in the specified location provide comprehensive patient care in adult medical-surgical units, including telemetry, neurology, stroke, orthopedics, trauma, and elective procedures. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population with a variety of diagnoses, requiring adaptability and experience in acute care settings.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with scheduling every other weekend and rotating holidays (one major, one minor).
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of recent acute care registered nurse experience in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting; Epic electronic medical record experience; ability to care for adult patients with a broad range of diagnoses.
  • Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification is preferred and required upon hire during orientation. Experience caring for diverse patient populations and adapting to multiple clinical environments is strongly preferred.
  • Float: Nurses call before each shift for their unit assignment, report directly to the assigned unit, and participate in the unit safety huddle and standard workflows. Float team assignments may include adult Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, ED Holding, or Intermediate Care Units, with occasional mid-shift reassignments based on operational needs.
  • Patient Population: Adult patients with diagnoses such as general medical-surgical, telemetry, neurology, stroke, orthopedics/trauma, elective joint and spine procedures, skeletal traction, and external fixation.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Nurses must have Epic access and experience with Epic modules is required. The assignment start date is 08/31/2026, ending on 11/28/2026.
