Description

Job Summary:
Paramedic - Location not specified. This position involves providing basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients in a healthcare setting. The role requires ongoing assessment, documentation, patient interview, vital sign measurement, and assistance with treatments and tests. The paramedic will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, exercising independent judgment to stabilize and treat ill or injured patients. The position offers a variety of clinical responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 48 hours per week, with a rotation of 96 hours every two weeks involving either two 12-hour shifts or four 12-hour shifts based on staffing needs.
  • Required Qualifications: High School graduate, successful completion of an EMS paramedic program, Wisconsin EMT Paramedic Certification, Active Wisconsin drivers license in good standing, PALS, BLS, ACLS, WI Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) Endorsement preferred, Michigan Paramedic Certification required (with reciprocity eligibility if holding NREMT-P), AHA or ARC certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year paramedic experience required; three years preferred. Prior interfacility transfer experience is essential.
  • Additional Information: Orientation week will be conducted in Wausau, WI. Candidate may be required to float to other locations within northern and central regions to meet staffing needs. Staffing configurations may include EMT/Medic, Medic/Medic, RN/EMT, or RN/Medic teams depending on daily requirements. The position may involve on-call hours that count toward unbillable low census hours, with call back pay available. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times. All clinical duties will be performed in accordance with protocols under supervision.
