Description
Job Summary:
Hospice Nursing in the designated area involves providing comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses. These Registered Nurses (RNs) assess patient needs, administer medications, coordinate end-of-life care, and supervise hospice aides. The role supports the organizations goal of delivering quality hospice services in home and inpatient settings, with minimal supervision and in collaboration with family, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting 09/08/2026 and ending 12/05/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of South Carolina. Must have a valid South Carolina drivers license, with a good driving record, to make home visits. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Two (2) years of professional nursing experience in public health, including home care, hospice inpatient unit, or acute care setting. Current CPR certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Hospice nursing experience.
- Additional Information: The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, and driving. Ability to lift and move patients and equipment up to 50 pounds regularly. Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and unclean environments is common. The role involves working under stressful conditions, sometimes during irregular hours, including occasional on-call evenings and weekends. The RN provides supervision to LPNs and hospice aides, coordinates care with other disciplines and community agencies, and actively participates in quality improvement activities.
- Skills: Demonstrates comprehensive physical assessment skills, organization, time management, nursing process implementation, observation, and written communication abilities.
