Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position in a level 2 nursery setting. This role involves delivering comprehensive care to adolescent and adult female patients, including neonates, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality maternal and neonatal outcomes within a maternity unit that manages labor, delivery, recovery, post-partum, nursery, and NICU services.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license or professional certification; 0 years minimum experience; Epic electronic medical record experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Basic and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); BLS (Basic Life Support); STABLE (preferred but not required).
- Additional Information: Nurses may be required to respond and arrive on-site within one hour if called during low census periods. The unit functions as a labor, delivery, recovery, post-partum, nursery, and NICU facility, with a 3-bed triage space, 12 LDRP rooms, 16 nursery beds, and 3 NICU beds. Nurses are responsible only for the baby during C-sections and will not scrub into the surgical procedure. They may be utilized in pediatric or acute care departments when census is low but will never be the primary nurse in those areas.
