Job Summary:
Rehabilitation Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation on a Night shift in a Level III Trauma Center. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients recovering from stroke, neuro, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, LVAD, oncology, tracheostomy, and transplant patients. The position offers an opportunity for first-time travelers to gain valuable experience in a highly accredited and specialized stroke-certified program.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift with 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification, at least 1 year of experience, and knowledge of I/V pump and insertion, central, PICC, and midline catheter care, tube feeding pump, GI/PEG/NG tube management and care, NG tube insertion, wound vac/wound care, indwelling catheter insertion and care, trach care and suctioning, laryngectomy care, drain care, and management of behavior issues.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with stroke, neuro, TBI, MS, Parkinsons, LVAD, oncology, trachs, and transplants is advantageous.
• Support on the Unit: Charge nurse may assign patient responsibilities. Health Unit Coordinator operates from 0600-2230. Hospitalists, RT, and Phlebotomy staff are available 24/7.
• Charting System/Equipment: EPIC (preferred), Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis medication stations, and use of lifts such as Hoyer, ceiling, and sit-to-stand lifts.
• Floating: Floating to other MedSurg areas, inpatient boarding, with a patient ratio of 1:4; travelers are among the first to float.
• Orientation: 8 hours of new staff orientation.
• Scheduling: Includes a weekend rotation every third weekend as needed, with no on-call requirements.
• Additional Information: Scrub color flexibility; no crocks or denim, appearance guidelines to be followed at orientation. Free parking available.
