Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Specialist in Reston, VA. This role involves supporting a busy surgical unit with a focus on trauma, orthopedic, neuro, and various other surgical specialties. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures in a high-volume environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: CPR certification, current certification specific to the OR role such as Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or license, related to state and federal regulatory requirements. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in spinal and orthopedic procedures, including spine surgery and trauma experience.
• Position Type: Two openings for this ongoing assignment.
• Unit Information:
  • Location: Operating Room on the first floor of the facility.
  • Bed Capacity: 18 beds within the unit.
  • Staffing: Mix of registered nurses, surgical technologists, charge nurses, OR support technicians, and service line experts.
  • Patient Ratios & Equipment: Supporting trauma team and various surgical specialties with advanced equipment, including EMR Meditech.
  • Procedures include spinal fusion, total joint replacements, orthopedic trauma, and DaVinci Robot surgeries.
• Additional Information:
  • Weekends and nights coverage to fill staffing vacancies.
  • On-call duties, approximately four 12-hour shifts every 8 weeks.
  • Attire: Scrub attire provided by the facility.
