Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse (RN) in a hospital setting located in Forest, VA. This assignment involves working in an Oncology Care Unit with a focus on providing specialized patient care to oncology patients. The role requires a minimum of two years of hospital-based oncology experience and an active compact nursing license.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 08/24/2026 to 11/23/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid and active compact nursing license, two or more years of hospital experience in oncology, BLS certification, ability to access portacath or willingness to learn, and proficiency in handling oncology-specific equipment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech documentation system, ability to work at least 36 hours per week during scheduled dates, and familiarity with oncology protocols and procedures.
- Additional Information: The unit is newly renovated, featuring advanced call bell systems, new vital sign machines, scales, and IV pumps. Staffing includes a mix of nurses and patient care technicians, with staffing ratios of approximately 1:4 to 1:5. The unit follows specific dress code and policies, including work every third weekend, with one day shift and one night shift granted PTO at a time.
