Job Summary
The Surgical Technician (OR Technician) position is based in a healthcare facility and located in Rhinelander. This role involves supporting general surgical procedures across multiple operating rooms and endoscopy rooms, following established protocols and ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency. The position requires adaptability to floating between different units and adherence to all safety and certification requirements.
Job Details
- Location: Rhinelander
- Shift: Days, from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, with a minimum requirement of 40 hours per week
- Start Date: 09/07/2026
- End Date: 12/05/2026
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree or Certificate, American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, at least 1+ years of surgical technician experience, charting experience in Epic, ability to work a 13-week contract, and eligibility to work outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Specialty: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician
- Float: Float rotation may be required between Howard Young, Eagle River, and Tomahawk; float can be prescheduled if needed
- On Call/Call Back: One night of call per week, one weekend every 4th weekend, call back within 20 minutes at Rhinelander
- Holiday Rotation: Within rotation
- Additional Information: The candidate will support general surgery procedures in a busy OR with five operating rooms and one endoscopy room, utilizing retractors, forceps, clamps, scissors, and needle holders. Candidates must be resilient, adaptable to change, social, and skilled in documentation. Scrub colors will be provided. The role includes mandatory COVID and flu vaccinations during flu season, with policies requiring masks for decliners.
- Shift Notes: Dayshift from 07:00 to 15:30, 8-hour shifts.
