Description
Job Summary:
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float (Tele MS Float) nurse position in a healthcare facility setting, based in a location with a focus on adult patient populations. The role involves providing patient care across multiple units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Emergency Department Observation. The position requires flexibility to float within designated zone facilities, adhering to specific schedules and unit requirements.
Job Details:
- Shift Times: Days, 12 hours shift length
- Schedule: Shifts are scheduled from 09/14/2026 to 12/14/2026, with 36 hours minimum per week. Schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance and may follow either a single facility weekly schedule or a Just-In-Time (JIT) assignment made 1-2 hours before shift start via call.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIH Stroke Scale certification, minimum of 2 years of Telemetry Medical-Surgical experience, ability to float within Zone 1 including facilities based around Colorado Springs, CO.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience.
- Responsibilities: Providing adult patient care covering a variety of diagnoses and conditions, including cardiac, neurological, oncology, and general surgery. The role involves managing patient acuity with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity, and operating equipment such as vents, Cpap, BiPaps, etc.
- Float Policy: Float rotation may be required throughout Zone 1, which includes multiple facilities within approximately 60 miles of Colorado Springs. Candidates must arrange housing that makes floating feasible.
- Additional Information: Units may include ICU (with low acuity holds), Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown, and Medical Surgical Telemetry units. Client expects flexibility for weekends, with 6-9 weekend shifts every 6 weeks, and possible holiday rotations. Call or standby duties are rare.
- Licensing and Certification: Valid RN license required; BSN preferred. Charting system is EPIC. No BSN required to submit license.
- Cancellation Policy: Up to four shifts can be canceled within the 13-week period.
- Notes: Travel nurses are expected to self-schedule, help fill gaps in the schedule, and be flexible to float as needed across facilities within Zone 1. No home base facility required; must be 60 miles from each facility.
