Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) The healthcare provider is seeking experienced RNs for a temporary assignment in the step down unit located at a healthcare facility. The position involves managing patients with cardiac, geriatric, and post-procedural conditions, requiring strong clinical skills and the ability to interpret monitors and manage titratable drips. The assignment is scheduled to start on September 8, 2026, and will last through December 8, 2026, with shifts primarily during the day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting September 8, 2026, and ending December 8, 2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, at least 2 years of experience in a step down or similar acute care setting, experience managing titratable drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Ability to interpret slide strips, familiarity with Cerner charting system, experience caring for geriatric, ortho, or cardiac post-procedural patients.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required across MedSurg Tele and PCU units, including inpatient holding areas in the emergency department.
  • Additional Information: Clinicians must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% score within two attempts; failure to do so will impact eligibility within specific regions. Candidates should be comfortable managing CPAP or BiPAP equipment and working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
