Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in a healthcare facility located in an adult and pediatric care setting. This full-time night shift position involves managing complex patient cases such as CVA, TIA, COVID, and other acute conditions. The role requires strong clinical skills, effective team collaboration, and the ability to adapt to unit needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 06:30 PM to 06:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid registered nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down or telemetry units; strong skills in patient assessment, telemetry, and crisis management.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to medical-surgical areas based on staffing needs.
- Additional Information: Candidate must have a valid driver's license, complete a pass/fail skills exam with at least 90%, adhere to fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails, and follow all unit policies, including hourly rounding and responsiveness. Staffing may be adjusted based on unit needs, with up to 4 shifts canceled over a 13-week period.
