Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialist in a hospital setting. This position involves providing high-quality care to antepartum, postpartum, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patients within a Level 2 maternal/neonatal center. The role requires a dedicated professional prepared for night shift coverage, with a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Iowa (IA) license or a valid multistate license, 24 months of current Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience, EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system experience, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), STABLE certification, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Nursery/Mother-Baby experience, postpartum experience, NICU experience, travel within the last 15 months, and professional references from supervisory roles within the past 24 months.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must have experience with medication administration including glucose, magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. Skills checklist must be discipline-specific. Candidates must be able to meet the employment separation policy, which prohibits employment at this organization if previously employed as FTE or PRN within the past 12 months, unless travel experience was involved. Orientation dates are scheduled for 09/08/2026, 09/14/2026, and 09/21/2026. Candidates should be prepared for potential holiday work, specifically Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Candidate must not be from the local area, with a minimum of 50 miles from the facility, and must hold a valid Driver's License.
  • Submission Requirements: Rapid interview process via phone call or text from a 405 area code. Resume and work history must reflect 24 months of current L&D experience with specific discipline skills.
