Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurocritical Care (ICU NEURO) for a facility located within a healthcare providers acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized neuro assessment and critical care for patients with neurological conditions, including those undergoing brain surgeries, tumor removal, and spine repairs. The position offers a night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, supporting neurological patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice, BLS and ACLS Certifications; minimal experience of 0 years with a preference for at least 2 years in an ICU environment within a large (450+) Level 1 Trauma setting. Neuro ICU experience and strong neuro assessment skills, including ICP monitoring, are necessary.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro assessments, ICP monitoring, and managing neurodiagnosis patients such as those with brain tumors, craniotomies, and spine surgeries.
- Float: First to float; ICU/MS/Tele; possibly Westgate or AZ General Laveen; 4:1 for Tele.
- Additional Information:
- All RN candidates will complete SIMs lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with exceptions for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NyICU) and Emergency Department (ED).
- Candidates must pass a skills exam on day 1 of orientation.
- Experience in neuro assessment and ICP monitoring is strongly preferred.
- Unit will consider candidates with less than 2 years of ICU experience if they have at least 18 months of neuro ICU experience.
- Important to have strong sterile field skills; candidates demonstrating competence will improve pass likelihood.
