Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room Technician / Surgical Technologist position is available in an unspecified location. This role involves proficiently scrubbing open heart and cardiovascular cases, with responsibilities extending to floating to the main operating room or sterile processing department as needed. Candidates will serve as constant observers within the house and support surgical teams throughout procedures.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include being a certified surgical technologist following a CAAHEP-accredited program or another programmatically accredited surgical technology program. Candidates must have passed the National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, with at least 2 years of prior travel experience. All travel submissions must meet these experience requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in scrubbing open heart and cardiovascular surgeries, ability to float to different departments including sterile processing and main OR, and prior travel experience.
  • Additional Information: The position involves preparing operating rooms, including sterile fields, setting up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgeries, the surgical technologist passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon, manages surgical equipment, and manages sterile fields and specimens. The role includes performing sponge and supply counts to prevent foreign objects from being retained.
  • The position is a contractor replacement and is based on a contract duration from 09/14/2026 to 12/12/2026.
