Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located at a medical facility in Aurora, Colorado. This role involves providing comprehensive critical care to a diverse patient population, including cardiac, surgical, neurological, and post-operative open-heart patients. The position offers an opportunity to work within a well-equipped, high-acuity environment on night shifts, with a focus on patient safety and excellent team collaboration.

Job Details:

Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year current acute care ICU hospital experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification
Preferred Qualifications: Prior Meditech experience, CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) or CTICU (Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit) experience, and handling of post-operative open heart surgery patients are highly desirable
Additional Information: The unit is a Level II Trauma Center with 38 beds, providing care for medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgical patients. It features a mix of ICU patients, including those on VV and VA ECMO, balloon pumps, Impella devices, and CRRT. Equipment includes Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Maquet IABP, ECMO Maquet Cardiohelp, and Medtronic Vital Flow, among others. The team is composed of approximately 125 staff members, with staffing ratios ranging from 2:1 to 1:1 depending on patient acuity. The facility is located near mountain outdoor activities, promoting a friendly and team-oriented work environment.
