Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position located on a 12-hour night shift. This role involves providing care to patients with diverse diagnoses such as COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID-19, Pneumonia, and post-surgical recovery. The position offers a dynamic clinical environment with opportunities to float and work with a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS certification from AHA; minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on a medical-surgical floor in a hospital setting.
• Department: Medical Surgical RN beds (37 beds, combination of private and semi-private rooms).
• Certifications: BLS (AHA).
• Department notes: Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles. Call off policy allows up to 12 hours per 13 weeks without penalty; orientation includes 12 hours of non-billable hours, with a 2-day department orientation plus 1 day of hospital/EMR orientation.
• Patient Population: COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID, Pneumonia, surgical cases (hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel resections).
• Additional information: Floating to other floors may be required if competency is met; schedule is managed by the department manager with possible block scheduling; tele monitoring is available; no vents are used on this unit.
