Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse position is available in a healthcare facility located in a riverfront area featuring walking paths and a quaint downtown with boutiques and dining options. The assignment involves working during night shifts with a focus on high-risk obstetric patients, postpartum care, and level 2 nursery experience. The role includes providing patient care in a busy, 80-bed unit with overflow capacity, following AWHONN staffing guidelines and utilizing EPIC electronic medical records.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, from 08/31/2026 to 11/30/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license or confirmation that an application has been initiated; BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; minimum of 1 year of relevant obstetric and postpartum nursing experience; experience with antepartum, postpartum, level 2 nursery, and high-risk obstetrics; experience with EPIC charting system; familiarity with caring for gynecological surgical patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working antepartum and postpartum, with an understanding of baby-friendly practices; ability to work both antepartum and postpartum units with no scrub or circulating on cesarean sections.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other departments such as medical-surgical or emergency departments during COVID surge periods.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes on-unit learning for 3 days, with classroom components and testing as needed. Candidate must understand OSF's Drug-Free Campus policy and produce a negative drug screen. The unit is trauma level unspecified and uses EPIC for electronic charting. Scrubs are provided.
- Submission Requirements: Last four digits of clinician's Social Security Number, clinician's middle initial, requested time off prior to contract approval, current active Illinois RN license or proof of application, and confirmation of experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, or nursery.
