Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, managing complex medical conditions such as heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, strokes, and other intensive care needs. The position requires teamwork, adaptability, and clinical proficiency to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekends as needed and first to float; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); minimum of 1 year of ICU experience; must be eligible to work in the specified location.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with ventilated patients, titration of drips (e.g., Propofol, Levophed, Diltiazem), and prior ICU float experience.
- Additional Information:
- The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
- Common diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, strokes, post-surgical patients, and post-codes.
- The unit is staffed with CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) support at a ratio of 1 per shift.
- Critical equipment includes vents, high flow, Bipap, and vasopressors such as Levophed and Dopamine.
- Hospitalist staff are onsite 24/7, with intensivists available via telehealth.
- RT staff are available in the ICU 24/7, with equipment including vents and Bipap.
- RNs are required to read Strips using Spacelabs monitoring.
- The unit may float to Tele, Meridian, and Boise ICUs, maintaining a 1:3 float ratio when possible.
- The dress code is flexible but must be neat and professional.
- Orientation consists of 1 to 2 shifts, depending on experience.
- The facility has a radius rule of 50 miles; candidates permanent address must be outside this radius for consideration.
- Shift notes: First to float, with weekend and holiday requirements as per operational needs.
