Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Days Shift Location: Unknown. This position requires a registered nurse with recent experience in a large hospital setting, specifically in medical-surgical care. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, utilizing electronic medical records, and providing high-quality patient care for acute adult patients, including surgical oncology cases if experienced.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts on days, every other weekend and holiday; minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; current ND or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) license; at least 2 years of recent Medical Surgical (MS) experience working in a hospital with 200+ beds and level 2 or higher trauma designation; experience with surgical oncology preferred but not required; proficiency with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC; microbiology and surgical oncology experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with surgical oncology patients.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Candidates must badge in and out at the facility, wear navy blue scrubs, and provide good interview times in submission. The unit has 47 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts. The role includes unit/department-specific training: one day of lead-center training and two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor. The candidate must have no recent employment with the organization within the last 6 months if previously employed there, and must be able to float to any medical-surgical unit on any campus.
