Description

Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Chicago, IL. This role involves providing specialized care for surgical, trauma, and complex abdominal surgery patients, including neuro and cardiovascular cases. The position offers nights shift coverage, with a focus on patient safety, critical care protocols, and interdisciplinary teamwork in a teaching hospital environment.

Job Details

Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, 4 years ICU experience, and ability to manage trach, ventilator, Bipap, chest tubes, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheter, CRRT (prismaflex), insulin drips, and other critical care procedures
Preferred Qualifications: CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification experience
Additional Information: Orientation includes two shifts in the MICU; unit supports a variety of complex patient types and advanced monitoring equipment; resources include a resource nurse, house supervisor, and 24/7 support staff; charting conducted via EPIC system; floating to telemetry and medical-surgical units possible, with travelers first to be floated; parking available with agency sign-up; nearby public transportation options are accessible
