Description

Job Summary:
Pre-Operative (Pre Op) Registered Nurse assignment located in an acute hospital facility. The role involves providing pre-operative patient care, education, and assessment within a busy surgical unit. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional to support patient preparation for procedures and ensure smooth perioperative flow.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting on 09/21/2026 and ending on 12/21/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license in the state of practice; at least 1 year of clinical experience as a Pre Op Registered Nurse; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in inpatient settings, pre-admission testing, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, medication reconciliation, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, review of patient history and physical, interpretation of lab values, dysrhythmia recognition and management, pediatric patient management, and familiarity with electronic charting systems such as Epic.
  • Additional Information: The role involves supporting pre-operative assessments, pre-op education, medication administration, and monitoring patients through various procedures. Candidates may be expected to float within scope to similar units as needed. No weekends or call responsibilities are required. RTO requests should be submitted at the start of the application process. Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility's location, and a valid compact or state license must be in hand prior to start. References covering the last three years are required.
