Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in a Level I trauma center located in an acute care hospital. This role involves providing state-of-the-art surgical care across multiple service lines, with a focus on trauma and general surgeries. The ideal candidate will have general OR experience, including familiarity with trauma cases, and hold current BLS certification. CNOR certification is preferred.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week, from 08:45 AM to 07:15 PM, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/11/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or in the application process, at least 3 years' recent OR experience, trauma experience (Level I trauma required), BLS certification, and general surgery skills including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair.
• Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, Cerner charting system experience, experience with laparoscopic assisted cases, and participation in trauma or emergency procedures.
• On-Call Requirement: Yes, approximately once per week, with occasional need to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Additional Information: Candidate must work with all service lines except cardiovascular (CV). Willingness to work a block schedule is not required. Candidate must have at least 50 miles of residence from the facility and hold an active Illinois license. No local applicants accepted; all candidates must be prepared for orientation and compliance protocols.
