Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Position in the Medical City Plano facility. This role involves providing patient care across multiple Medical-Surgical units, with a focus on trauma and orthopedic patients. The position requires flexibility to float between units, adhering to unit protocols and providing high-quality nursing support on nights with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have at least 1 year of Medical-Surgical (MS) experience, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and be available to start on 08/24/2026 with an end date of 11/23/2026. Qualification verification includes Certification, Education, and Location requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic and trauma patients is highly preferred, including procedures such as heparin and Protonix drips, and working with polytrauma, cervical fractures, downgraded traumatic brain injury, and burns.
- Additional Information: The role involves working with telemonitoring equipment such as TeleEMR Meditech, and requires adherence to unit dress code (Royal Blue scrubs). The candidate must be punctual for huddles at 06:45/18:45 and be prepared for weekend and on-call commitments, totaling four weekends.
