Description
Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician located in the area. This position involves supporting the operating room and hospital by decontaminating, cleaning, processing, and distributing surgical supplies and sterile trays. Candidates must be certified and highly organized, with a focus on excellent customer service. The role includes rotating weekend shifts and ongoing assignment potential, with opportunities for conversion to full-time employment for reliable staff.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Evening shift, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting 09/21/2026 and ending 12/19/2026.
- Required Qualifications: High School Diploma, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology or Central Service program, certification as a Surgical Technology or Central Service Technician, a minimum of 6 months experience in Central Sterile Processing (preferred 1 year), fire and safety certification (must be obtained within 30 days if not already held), fully vaccinated with the current year's flu vaccine, and able to speak, read, and write English. Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments, and infection control guidelines required. Computer literacy preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Surgical Technology or Central Service Technician certification.
- Additional Information: Rotating weekend shifts are required; staff will be scheduled on Saturday or Sunday with days off during the week. This position requires attendance, punctuality, and adherence to shift agreements. The organization offers ongoing assignments with potential for full-time conversion based on performance and attendance. Candidate must be familiar with EMR systems, specifically Cerner.
