Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is based at a healthcare facility designated for specialty care. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem conditions, including cardiac, neurological, and post-operative cases. The position requires a minimum of two years of RN experience with at least one year in a step-down or telemetry unit.

Job Details

• Location: The primary location is a medical-surgical unit with a focus on cardiac and neuro patient populations.
• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift.
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
• Start Date: 09/07/2026
• End Date: 12/06/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid active compact RN license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIHSS certifications; at least 2 years of RN experience, 1 full year of step-down experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience; recent EPIC charting experience (will require a checkoff class).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stable home ventilators, PleureX drains, lumber drains, VP shunts, and Narcan drips; strong assessment and critical thinking skills, resilient, adaptable, and socially engaged candidates.
• Float: Float rotation required within skillset, including to different campuses with a 2-hour notice.
• On Call/Call Back: Not applicable.
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Work three weekends every six weeks and every other holiday.
• Interview Days: Monday through Friday.
• Interview Types: MSP interview.
• Bed Count: 16 beds; patient-to-nurse ratio daily is approximately 1:3-4.
