Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Location: Not specified. This position involves providing specialized care in the neonatal intensive care unit, supporting high-risk neonates, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in neonatal care procedures and a commitment to quality patient care.

Job Details

Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
Education Requirements: Valid licensure in state, must hold a compact license if applicable, with at least 1 year of neonatal experience required
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialization, minimum 1 year of relevant experience, current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications, valid state license including compact licensing option
Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, supporting breastfeeding and handling of breast milk, and managing neonates greater than 34 weeks and those between 29-34 weeks gestation, including patients with ventilator management needs such as AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP, and managing UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter) and UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter) lines. The role also involves stabilization of infants for transfer and operating specialized equipment such as high flow and CPAP.
Additional Unit Information: Care for neonates in a Level II NICU with a census of 4, managing infants with gestation 32 weeks and above, requires the ability to work with complex equipment and procedures.
Submission Requirements: Must include responses to whether the candidate has worked at a Providence facility, with details on location and dates, along with two references covering 1 year during the last 3 years.
