Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a rotating shift environment. The position involves providing specialized peri-anesthesia care to diverse patient populations, with an emphasis on ICU experience. The role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team, delivering vigilant pre- and post-operative care across a range of surgical and medical specialties.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active MD or Compact State nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), a minimum of 2 years ICU experience, 2 years patient ratio experience, and 2 years of ICU or PACU experience preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: The main PACU unit includes 28 bays and provides 24/7 peri-anesthesia care for patients across the lifespan, treating a broad spectrum of acuity. Nurses must be skilled in titration of vasopressors, airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration, and fluid resuscitation.
- Additional Information: Must have at least 2 years ICU experience; ICU and PACU experience is preferable. Floating to other units within scope is required. Candidates should be comfortable with on-call shifts and working during holidays and weekends.
