Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Oncology (MS ONC) specialty position is located in Dallas and involves working on an oncology unit with a focus on blood and electrolyte replacement, sterile dressing changes, and infection prevention. The role is suitable for a healthcare professional with a team-centered approach and a strong understanding of oncology patient care. The assignment timeline spans from September 22, 2026, to December 22, 2026.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). No prior experience requirement specified; all candidates must be comfortable performing sterile dressing changes, adhering to infection prevention protocols, and have a solid understanding of blood and electrolyte replacement procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: General medical oncology understanding, familiarity with ports and central lines.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The assignment is at a unit with 41 beds, staffed with up to 5 registered nurses and 2 patient care technicians on day shifts, and a similar structure on night shifts. Patient ratios are estimated at 4:1, maximum 5:1. The unit utilizes Meditech electronic medical records and Baxter pumps for patient care. Staff are expected to wear royal blue scrubs with hospital-approved jackets, and rotating weekend and on-call shifts may be involved.
