Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse positions are available in a facility located in Puyallup, Washington. These roles involve managing perinatal patient care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care in a Level III trauma center with a focus on high-risk obstetrics and neonatal needs. Candidates will provide direct patient care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patients throughout all stages of labor and delivery.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with coverage expected every other weekend, operating between 0700-1900 or 1900-0700 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Validlicensing as a registered nurse (RN), BLS certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or Relias module), and experience with labor and postpartum nursing. No minimum years of experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, epidurals, amnio infusions, fetal and maternal monitoring, IV therapy, Pitocin, couplet care, and familiarity with hospital security and medication dispensing systems.
  • Float: Will only float to areas where previously demonstrated competence; will not float to START unit.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes facility and unit-specific training, annual core competencies, medication exams, and unit competency exams prior to start. The unit exclusively employs RN staff, with no nursing assistants. Candidates will participate in a weekend rotation, and the position does not require on-call duties or holiday work.
