Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse positions are available in a facility located in Puyallup, Washington. These roles involve managing perinatal patient care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care in a Level III trauma center with a focus on high-risk obstetrics and neonatal needs. Candidates will provide direct patient care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patients throughout all stages of labor and delivery.

Job Details:

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with coverage expected every other weekend, operating between 0700-1900 or 1900-0700 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Validlicensing as a registered nurse (RN), BLS certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or Relias module), and experience with labor and postpartum nursing. No minimum years of experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, epidurals, amnio infusions, fetal and maternal monitoring, IV therapy, Pitocin, couplet care, and familiarity with hospital security and medication dispensing systems.
Float: Will only float to areas where previously demonstrated competence; will not float to START unit.
Additional Information: Orientation includes facility and unit-specific training, annual core competencies, medication exams, and unit competency exams prior to start. The unit exclusively employs RN staff, with no nursing assistants. Candidates will participate in a weekend rotation, and the position does not require on-call duties or holiday work.
