Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Puyallup, Washington. This position involves caring for antepartum, labor, and postpartum patients in a Level III Trauma Center with a busy obstetric service. The role requires managing high-risk and low-risk pregnancies, performing cervical exams, fetal monitoring, and providing couplet care once the mother and baby are stable. The schedule features night shifts on a 12-hour cycle, with every other weekend rotation.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 or 1900-0700), minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or Relias module). Experience with labor and antepartum skills, cervical exams, epidurals, IVs, Pitocin, and post-partum care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Strong labor and delivery experience, couplet care, HUGS Security system, Pyxis, and scrub experience.
- Float: Will only float to areas where competent; will not float to START unit.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes facility and unit-specific training; two shifts daily involving delivery and C-section triage. Candidates must complete annual core competencies, medication exams, and unit competency exams before arrival. The assignment runs from 09/21/2026 to 01/02/2027.
