Description

Job Summary:
Infection Control Specialist in Augusta, GA. This position involves overseeing infection prevention and control programs within the healthcare organization. The role requires ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, conducting surveillance, and collaborating with clinical teams to enhance patient safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, Monday through Friday from 7:30/8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with on-call duties required one week per month, usually covered by phone. Shift hours are approximately 8 hours per day for at least 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. RN (Registered Nurse) license for a single state or RN-Compact (multi-state) license. Certification in Infection Control within 2 years. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role. At least 1 year of experience in infection prevention. Demonstrated knowledge of epidemiology, surveillance, data collection and analysis; knowledge of Infection Prevention guidelines, OSHA, regulatory requirements, and CDC guidelines is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent teamwork, and relationship-building abilities are necessary.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CIC certification preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years as an Infection Preventionist in an acute care hospital environment.
  • Additional Information: The position is located at 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA. The candidate is expected to work business attire or scrubs. The position duration is from 09/07/2026 to 12/07/2026.
